If you can not adopt a dog or pup, have you considered sponsoring a dog in care?
Sponsorship is a great way to help a Rescue.
You can choose the dog or pup you wish to sponsor and whatever amount you can afford. Your name will be displayed under the dogs photo as their Sponsor for the duration of their time in foster care.
COSTS INVOLVED IN RESCUING RESPONSIBLY:
The average costs for each dog/pup in care is as follows:
- Desex: $130-$250 (depending on size/weight, male/female
- Vaccination: $25.00
- Microchipping: $20.00
- Lifetime registration (NSW only): $40.00
- Heartworm Test: (over 6 months) $35.00 (Antigen test)
- Worming: $5-$30 (depending on weight and frequency)
- Flea Treatment: $15.00 per month
- Food for 1 week (This does not include emaciated or malnourished dogs in care.) Small Breed: $15.00 Large Breed $30.00
- Antibiotics (when needed) 7 day course: Approx $25.00-$50.00 (depending on weight/size)
- Collars/Leads: $5-$15.00 (depending on size)
- Disinfectant: Trigene (kills viruses/bacteria etc):$35.00 for 1lt (this lasts approx 2 weeks)The above costs are associated with routine care only.
Special Needs Dogs/Pups may require additional surgery (broken limbs etc) or may require a special diet during their rehabilitation (emaciated, malnourished dogs need a high quality, high calorie food.)
