Rediscovering Play

Play is a natural and very important part of healthy Canine Development.

In Rescue, we see many dogs and puppies who simply do not know how to play either with people or toys or other dogs. They may have been abandoned at birth, thus losing an essential role model in mum, emotionally neglected in a previous home or abused (this can cause play to cease).

Play is essential for teaching puppies about boundaries whilst they are still with mum or littermates.

It is essential for brain development, social interactions and a psychologically and emotionally healthy dog.

My Girls, Genevieve and Cordelia are my real Play Therapists when it comes to abandoned puppies.

Below are simply some pics showing dogs and pups learning to play!

ENJOY!

Some dogs love big time rough and tumble play

And some prefer a more gentle approach to play time

Sometimes, you just gotta feel the wind in your fur!

The long and the short of it........

One of the reasons jumpers are always needed...
