Welcome

Meet the Crew

CORDELIA- Labrador Retriever

The reason I became involved in Rescue

Adopted from Blacktown Pound on the 22nd August, 1999.

She is foster mum to all orphaned bubs (though believes ALL bubs to be hers) and Head of the welcoming committee.

She is my Angel here on earth and she is now 10yrs old.

GENEVIEVE - Great Dane

Cordelia's shadow. Gen is 5 years old now and came to me as a bub of 14wks after being rescued in Victoria in emaciated condition.

She helps Cordelia and I with hand rearing and socialising young pups and she is a great play mate for many of my larger breed rescues who need a hand in learning the art of "The Zoomies" and wrestling.

SHELBY- Sheltie (R.I.P)

Shelby was a very old, neglected girl who was due for euthanasia the day I saw her sitting in a kennel at the pound. She looked me right in the eye and I couldn't leave her to die. (see Transformation page).

She's been here with us for 3 years now. She's as mad as a meat axe and completely obsessed with herding/chasing/fetching anything that moves. Her eyesight is starting to fail and her hearing isn't up to scratch anymore, but I think, at approximately 15yrs old or so, that's to be expected. She is noisy, crazy and a grumble bum when pups hassle her (even though it's usually her hassling the pups to play) but she is so adorable and loveable.

GRANDMA KATE- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (R.I.P)

I knew Our Kate was staying as soon as I saw her come off the plane at the airport.

Underweight, over bred and exhausted, I didn't think she would survive for very long. She had tumours in her abdomen, which have since disappeared with no explanation and several other problems that have spontaneously resolved.

Katie is great for any older, small dogs I take in as she makes them feel ok with the world just by sitting with them and giving the occasional kiss. She is also the dobber in the family and barks when someone is doing something they shouldn't! (Think she learnt that from Cordelia!)

She is now 13yrs old.

PIGLET- Shih Tzu (R.I.P)

As told on her own page, Piglet has been through some dreadful abuse. She has some big emotional scars that will never go away (as well as some physical scars too), which is why she became a permanent resident with us.

She will stay safe here until it is time for her to receive her wings. She is on a daily dose of pain medication for her ruined hips, knees and elbows. Unfortunately, Piglet is not particularly friendly towards people she is not familiar with, so she is usually inside, away from new people. She gets overly fearful, and due to her elongated soft palate, she will pass out if she gets over excited/frightened.

SHAUNA AND SEAMUS

The terrible twins!

Shauna and Seamus were found dumped in a bucket by the side of the road at the tender age of 3 weeks.

Since I am not in the habit of rescuing kittens/cats, I surprised myself by bringing these 2 filthy, starving babies home in the hope that they would survive.

Now aged 4yrs, Shauna is more introverted, yet is completely infatuated with Genevieve and spends as much time sucking her cheek as Gen will allow.

Seamus thinks he is a dog and believes that all other dogs should be inspected by him. He has absolutely no fear whatsoever and is the most affectionate cat I have known.

NONNA- Chihuahua x (R.I.P)

Nonna is about 3yrs old and is a complete lunatic.

She loves everyone and truly believes humans were put on earth to love and play with her.

She's the one you'll hear barking like a maniac when you pull in the driveway here as she also believes that she is the biggest guard dog in the universe (but she's all talk!).
