Adoption Costs

Adult Dogs have an average Adoption Fee of $300.00.  This is a donation to cover the costs of Desexing, Vaccination, Microchipping, Worming, Flea Treatment and Heartworm Prevention that are incurred by our Rescue. Your adoption donation pays the Vet clinic who does our work, food bills, buys beds, bowls etc when needed. (see sponsorship page for a breakdown of costs for 1 dog in care). Some purebred dogs have an increased adoption fee.

Pups have an average Adoption Fee of $320.00. Usual vet work is the same as it is for Adults with the addition of a compulsory treatment (once off) to prevent the development of Coccidiosis (a potentially life treatening parasite common in 'pound puppies' due to stress. This consists of a small dose of Baycox the day after arrival into care. (The old adage "Prevention is better than Cure").  Since implimenting this new regime, the number of pups who become ill within a few days of rescue has decreased by over 50%.

Some pups may have a higher adoption fee if they are purebred (very unusual in rescue) or require additional vaccinations.

Dogs over 8yrs of age are available for a reduced fee of $200.00  for Aged Pension Card holders only . (Pension card must be viewed prior to Adoption).

DESEXING IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
